Weed control can be achieved by spraying once or twice in the year of planting. It is especially important to avoid perennial weeds. After establishment, weeds can be controlled by applying glyphosate in early spring when necessary. Mechanical weed control can also be chosen. Fertilising is not necessary on previously cultivated soil for the first 2-3 years.
